Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well 🙂 This week I wanted to write down some of the hobbies I’m looking forward to doing this fall season, and maybe give you some ideas too! I love the idea of starting a new hobby or craft just because of how fast paced our world is. Sometimes it can be too much, and starting a new art project or book can help me deal with stress and add some fun into my life. Below you will find some ideas that I have on my list for the fall, but feel free to comment your ideas or recommendations that you have in mind for the fall!
1. My first hobby that I want to make a priority this fall is reading. I have always loved reading, whether that was a cute romance or a scary thriller. Every book is an opportunity to enter a new world and escape the realities of life, which is needed in the fall school season. Some genres that are perfect for fall (in my opinion) is mystery, thriller, romance, and fantasy! Here are some books that I love for fall!
2. Baking is another hobby I would love to do more of this fall! There are so many amazing recipes out there, on Pinterest, Instagram, and cookbooks! I have a Gilmore girls cookbook that I am definitely going to try out recipes of. From apple pie, cinnamon rolls, and soups, fall is the best time to try out those recipes.
3. Puzzles!! This one is definitely more of a time commitment but I think its worth it, especially if you dedicate a weekend to getting the whole thing done. I bought one of Paris and the Eiffel tower that I am so excited to put together!
4. Another hobby I want to start doing this fall is scrapbooking. Even though we have digital scrapbooks with social media, I love the idea of having my pictures, notes, letters, and other special mementos from vacations/trips on paper so I can look back on it anytime. You can scrapbook pictures from different trips you have been on, years of your life, or even section it out by person. It’s so fun!
5. Even though I may not be the best at drawing, I recently have gotten into oil pastels and it is seriously so fun! It’s a lot less serious than some other art forms and there’s no pressure to make anything precise or accurate. You just let the colors blend and try to draw something you love!
6. Writing homemade letters to your friends, family members, or grandparents is a perfect hobby because you can customize it to your taste or what they would love! I love both writing and receiving letters from people so I think this is such a cool hobby. There are so many sets of papers and envelopes on amazon that are pretty cheap or even using leftover scrapbook paper and your own markers from home is perfect! The options are endless and I can’t wait to write more 🙂
7. Another hobby is patchwork t-shirts! I have been seeing this all over Pinterest and I want to do so many of them! You essentially take a plain t-shirt or crewneck, some fabric scraps, and sew your own design! You could do some words, numbers, or different fruits or animals. There is so much flexibility with this craft and everyone can find something they like with this!
8. Lastly, one of my favorite things to do in the fall is watch new movies or TV shows that directly relate to the fall season! Some of these are Gilmore Girls, Wednesday, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Friends, etc. It is so fun to watch movies that take place in the fall or happen around Halloween!
